The Office for National Statistics reports rising house prices are keeping children in the nest

Article provided by Barton Wyatt Estate Agents Surrey

As reported on the BBC today, 25% of young adults in the UK in their 20's and early 30's, more than 3.3 million, now live with their parents as rising house prices delay them from getting onto the property ladder, according to the latest Office for National Statistics data.
With this trend in mind, parents are increasingly considering homes which can accommodate a fuller nest for longer.
Here are two examples of properties on the market today which would really suit the 21st century family:

Ashworth House, Holland Place, Sunninghill

A six bedroom residence located in the heart of the home counties just 2 miles from Ascot racecourse.

Ashworth House sits within substantial landscaped grounds and reflects meticulous attention to detail in design, specification and architectural integrity - again setting the benchmark for building excellence.

The property offers exceptional accommodation, arranged over three storeys, boasting a magnificent central galleried staircase with spectacular chandelier, three large reception rooms ideal for entertaining, while the kitchen/family room with an orangery opening out into the garden is the informal heart of the home.

Upstairs there are en-suite bathrooms to all six of the bedrooms plus a bonus bedroom/games room.  An annexe which is found over the triple garage has its own lobby entrance and has a small kitchen which would be ideal for older children.

Or perhaps this house in Wentworth would work with lots of bedrooms and a separate au-pair suite to house some overgrown 'Children':

Whickham, Wentworth, Surrey

A recently completed brand new classically styled and luxuriously appointed family home, ready for immediate occupation and fully furnished. Situated on a south facing corner plot of approximately half an acre in the exclusive Wentworth Estate.

The property has a superb layout ideally suited to the contemporary family lifestyle making the best of the south facing rear gardens. The hub of the house is a stunning Lida cucina kitchen with state of the art appliances. On the  Whickam Kitchen first floor is a very generous master bedroom suite and encompassing a dressing room, large bathroom and sitting room area. Over the double garage is a well-equipped staff/au-pair suite with its own entrance and staircase to be self-contained if desired.

On the second floor, there is the fifth bedroom and bathroom as well as an adaptable games room which of course could also be a sixth bedroom. The property has been fully furnished by award winning interior designers, Alexander James, and is ready for immediate occupation for a superb lifestyle.
