The
statistics for the UK's property market in 2017 are in, and the figures are
pretty hefty! Barton Wyatt, luxury estate agents in Surrey, have got the low-down on the areas that came out on the pricier end of
the budget spectrum, including our very own Virginia Water.
Last year
saw Belgravia's Grosvenor Crescent crowned as the UK's most expensive street,
stealing the top-spot from Eaton Square (also in Belgravia) which was demoted
to the bronze position. Grosvenor Crescent stretches from Belgrave Square to
Duke of Wellington Place and, rather than the usual homes, this street is made
up of lavish flats - which could be an indicator of market preference at the
moment.
Surrey and Virginia Water
It's not a
well-kept secret that Surrey is one of the most exclusive areas in the country,
and 2017 saw over 1,200 homes selling for upwards of one million pounds;
impressive numbers! This is made even more impressive when over 160 of these
homes were sold for over two million pounds. One property on Wentworth (sold by
Barton Wyatt) sold for the impressive price tag of £14.5 million.
It probably
isn't too much of a shock, therefore, that Surrey was home to seven out of
twenty streets where property prices fetched the highest figures in the UK. One
such road was the beautiful tree-lined avenue of Gorse Hill Road on the
Wentworth Estate in Virginia Water - a highly desirable place to live, proven
by its new status amongst the elite of Great Britain's streets, and where sales
of up to £7m were seen in 2017.

Two such
properties we'd like to showcase today are Bruton Park on Wentworth and a 6
bedroom mansion in Pipers End, also on the Wentworth Estate.
Bruton Park
is an architectural feat to behold, completed with a flourish of both
traditional and moderns finishes to create a breathtaking home over three
floors. With 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 5 receptions, there's plenty of space
in this property to raise a family and entertain guests. Other features include
a wine cellar, TV room and grand leisure complex comprising of a swimming pool,
steam room, gymnasium and more. The property is set in vast grounds with 3.5
acres of glorious park life and backing onto the River Bourne. The price tag of
£18.5m gives a hint as to its amazing qualities.
The
property at Pipers End holds a unique opportunity to be built entirely to your specifications.
The current landowner is selling the opportunity with planning permission
already granted to erect a grand six-bedroom, 6-bathroom and 5 reception room
mansion with a three-car garage and indoor swimming pool. The mansion will
cover a total of 11,371 square feet and will surely be a superb home for the
lucky owner. Price guide is £7.95m
