Lewis Hamilton is not being hyped up as the new star of British F1 racing. I think the sport needs someone new after dismal failure of Button to deliver on his promise. Some people are also making a huge deal out of his skills.
Having said all this, I think Lewis has done a great job so far and managed to finish in front of the reigning world champion, Fernando Alonso.
McLaren still has a long way to go to catch up with the Ferrari pace but I think the McLaren strategy is working so far having 2 of their drivers tied up with Kimi at the top after 3 events when they lacked comperative speed.
